A tribute to a special horse | Phoenix Rising 

Phoenix was more than just a horse- he was a friend, teacher, and confidante. A horse that touched many hearts. This is his story. 

Phoenix was a beautiful and special bay gelding, with an extra spark of life and vibrancy. He had a playful personality that shone through in everything he did, from prancing around the pasture to sticking his nose over the fence for treats. 

When Phoenix arrived at Wild Horse Ranch, he was nothing short of a shining star! This remarkable horse had everyone talking- saved from slaughter and given another shot at life. Phoenix had a lucky escape when Wild Horse Ranch rescued him from an unthinkable fate. 

When Phoenix first arrived at the ranch, he was quite thin. But despite this, his spirit remained strong and he determinedly pushed forward as if nothing were wrong. 

With love and care from the staff at the ranch, Phoenix slowly began to gain weight and his playful personality started to blossom. 

Phoenix brought a spark to Wild Horse Ranch. The staff quickly noticed what an amazing horse he was - his playful and easy going demeanor made him perfect for their lesson program! Everyone who came to ride him absolutely adored him; they could tell right away that he was special. 

In no time Phoenix became the star of their lesson program - kids loved him! He would always greet them with enthusiasm when they arrived for their lessons and he enjoyed being groomed by them. 

Despite only being with them for such a short amount of time, everyone who met Phoenix developed an instant bond with him - something about his sweet nature made it impossible not to fall head over heels in love with this boy! 

Not only did they learn how to properly handle horses while riding him, but also life lessons such as patience and kindness - something that Phoenix embodied perfectly every day. 

Sadly on December 23, 2022 without warning Phoenix became sick, leaving everyone heartbroken. Phoenix passed away peacefully surrounded by those who loved him most dearly in this world: His family at Wild Horse Ranch. Overcome by grief yet still filled with admiration for such an amazing horse; all those who knew Phoenix came together to create a fitting tribute commemorating all that he gave them during their brief journey together – forever reminding them of how lucky they were to have known such a special soul like Phoenix! 

Though it broke all our hearts deeply when we said goodbye to our beloved friend, we can always remember these precious memories we shared together as well as cherish all the joyous moments spent in his company during his stay here on earth. 

He will always be remembered fondly by everyone who knew him; especially those whose lives he touched during his time at Wild Horse Ranch. There will forever be a place reserved in our hearts for our sweet little "twinkle toes" Phoenix Rising!
